Progress made in orthopaedics services reviewed
Times News Service MUSCAT: Progress made in providing orthopaedics services in Oman was one of the main topics of discussion at a meeting here on Sunday.
The Directorate General of Khoula Hospital, represented by the Orthopaedics Department, held the meeting at the hospital to discuss the topic “Journey of Orthopaedics in the Ministry of Health.”
The meeting was sponsored under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Hosni, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs. Dr. Ali Al Mashani, Director General of Khoula Hospital, and some 60 doctors from regional hospitals were present at the meeting.
The meeting sought to review progress made in providing orthopaedics services in Oman and reviewing the Oman National Joint Registry, as well as the achievements and vision of Khoula Hospital and regional hospitals, such as those in Sohar, Rustaq, Nizwa, Sur, Buraimi, Ibri, Ibra and Salalah.
Dr. Mohammed Al Lami, Senior Consultant and head of the Or- thopaedics Department at Khoula Hospital noted, “This meeting is a celebration of the fruitful cooperation between Khoula Hospital and the referral hospitals in the Sultanate, under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The Orthopaedic Department has witnessed remarkable development in all its services”.
