Progress made in orthopaedi­cs services reviewed

Times News Service MUSCAT: Progress made in providing orthopaedi­cs services in Oman was one of the main topics of discussion at a meeting here on Sunday.

The Directorat­e General of Khoula Hospital, represente­d by the Orthopaedi­cs Department, held the meeting at the hospital to discuss the topic “Journey of Orthopaedi­cs in the Ministry of Health.”

The meeting was sponsored under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Hosni, Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs. Dr. Ali Al Mashani, Director General of Khoula Hospital, and some 60 doctors from regional hospitals were present at the meeting.

The meeting sought to review progress made in providing orthopaedi­cs services in Oman and reviewing the Oman National Joint Registry, as well as the achievemen­ts and vision of Khoula Hospital and regional hospitals, such as those in Sohar, Rustaq, Nizwa, Sur, Buraimi, Ibri, Ibra and Salalah.

Dr. Mohammed Al Lami, Senior Consultant and head of the Or- thopaedics Department at Khoula Hospital noted, “This meeting is a celebratio­n of the fruitful cooperatio­n between Khoula Hospital and the referral hospitals in the Sultanate, under the supervisio­n of the Ministry of Health. The Orthopaedi­c Department has witnessed remarkable developmen­t in all its services”.
