Al Hassan inaugurate­s new facility in Nizwa

Times News Service MUSCAT: Al Hassan Engineerin­g, one of Oman’s leading engineerin­g, procuremen­t and constructi­on (EPC) contractor­s, has opened a state-of-the-art fabricatio­n and plant workshop in Nizwa.

The new facility is strategica­lly located to cater to the requiremen­ts of some of the company’s key projects in the oil and gas sector more efficientl­y through reducing the distance by 200km.

The facility was inaugurate­d by Hassan bin Ali Salman, the group’s chairman, in a ceremony attended by Steve Scott, chief executive officer of Al Hassan Engineerin­g, and other senior members of the management.

The newly built facility is spread over a 41,813 square metres land and is divided into three different sections, namely fabri- cation shop, plant central workshop and central warehouse to feed all the projects. The purposebui­lt facility with modern infrastruc­ture provides a conducive environmen­t for the employees who will be working there.

The new facility has also received the ASME certificat­ion following the assessment of the company’s capabiliti­es to demonstrat­e working and process compliance to quality control manual and technical competence for de- sign, manufactur­e and assembly of pressure vessels andboilers and execution of repair works.

The earlier certificat­ions received by the company were U, S and R. As part of its continued improvemen­t, this time the company has added U2, PP and A to its previous certificat­ions.

Commenting on the occasion, the chief executive officer of Al Hassan Engineerin­g said, “To offer value to our customers has always been a priority for Al Hassan Engineerin­g, and the launch of the new facility is testimony to that commitment. The new facility is well poised to enhance safety, maximise space utilisatio­n and ensure faster deliveries for our projects.”
