Kalabhavan School gears up to celebrate ‘Vidyarambh­am’

MUSCAT: Kalabhavan School of Music & Arts has been conducting ceremony in a traditiona­l manner for the last few years in Oman.

As a special gesture, the institutio­n will be waiving the registrati­on fee from those taking admission for any courses on the day, says a press release.

Vijayadasa­mi is a major festival celebrated in India under dif- ferent names and with regional variations, as the victory of good over evil.

It is also known as Dussehra; the 10th day of Navratri, celebrated to commemorat­e the victory of Rama over Ravana.

The first nine days of the Dussehra festival is called Navratri and the 10th day is known as Vijayadasa­mi.

Indians have been celebratin­g the Navratri festival with great zest and fervour from ancient times.

On Vijayadasa­mi day, people make an auspicious beginning of art and learning.
