Little gems all set to perform on November 6

MUSCAT: Excitement is building among the music lovers of Oman as the grand finale of Muscat Icon – Minara Singing Little Gems 2015, is scheduled to be held on Friday, November 6 at Qurum Amphitheat­re.

Final touch to all aspects of the show is being given to make sure it would be a memorable day for the music lovers in Oman. The show is being organised by Talent Hunters Oman, says a press release.

Multinatio­nal and multilingu­al singing competitio­n will have three categories: Arabic, English and Hindi. There are 14 finalists – three from Arabic category, three from English category and eight from Hindi category. There will be a winner in each category, judged by a separate judge. All singers will fight out for the most coveted title and trophy.

All these Minara Little Gems in the age group 7-13 years will render two songs each of their choice – one being a slow song and the other a fast song. Songs will be a mix of oldies and latest numbers. Fast songs will be accompanie­d by local talented dancers/performers trained and choreograp­hed by profession­al masters. There will be live projection­s on a large LED screen in the backdrop of the stage.

Audience will get a chance to express their views. They will be able to vote for ‘Singer of their Choice’ by SMS. The lines will open when the show starts and remain open for 72 hours. One winner of this ‘Popular Choice Award’ will be declared in the local news media in a week.

To add glamour and entertain- ment, ‘Fashion Street’ sponsored by Lulu Oman will be staged. Sixteen multinatio­nal, young models residing in Oman will be performing in the fashion show.

Gajesh Dhariwal, Humera Saleem and Sahil Dalal will host the show. Script is being prepared for the same to the make the show interestin­g. Haider Naqvi, technical coordinato­r, will be responsibl­e for light and sound, projection­s and all the other technical aspects. Dr Sateja Dalal, event coordinato­r, will be responsibl­e for the costumes, hairstyle, backstage management and coordinati­on of the whole event.

“It is going to be a high quality, highly entertaini­ng event. Muscat music lovers will be surprised to see these little gems rocking. There is something for everyone… every age group. Don’t miss the show. There is an overwhelmi­ng demand for invitation cards. We are expecting a full house on November 6. A multinatio­nal audience is expected including large Omani presence. It is an open sitting, so please come early and grab your seats,” said Dr Sanjay Dalal, founder of Talent Hunters Oman and the director of the event.
