MUSCAT: Mott MacDonald defeated Al Meer by 75 runs in a Oman Cricket-organised and Enhance-sponsored D Division match at the Municipali­ty Ground III during the afternoon session on Friday.

Batting first, Mott MacDonald scored 202 for nine in 15 overs thanks to Jayed Tanashah’s 43 and 66 penalty runs. Kiran, Prakash and Punit claimed two scalps each for Al Meer.

Mott MacDonald then restricted Al Meer to 127 for two in 15 overs to complete their victory with a bonus point. Shankar top scored with an unbeaten 49 for the losers.

In an E Division match, played at the same venue in the morning session, Ibrahim Al Kishri defeated Abu Maather by 24 runs.

Batting first, Ibrahim Kishri scored of 171 for nine in 20 overs with Afzal Mirza and Mohammed Wasim scoring 44 and 45 respective­ly. Rizwan Mohammed and Akbar Mulla picked up three and two wickets respective­ly.

In reply, Abu Maather managed to score 147 all out in 17.5 overs. Wasim Jamadar top scored for with 45. Wasif Bakkar was the star bowler for Ibrahim Kishri with four for 23 from four overs.

Batting first, Kairali scored 228 for four in 20 overs with Praveen Kumar top scoring with 80 runs. Varghese MV and Shyam Lakshman chipped in with 55 and 60 not out respective­ly.

In reply, MCCC were bowled out for 130 in 19.2 overs. Jeason Jacob claimed three scalps while Fahad Hamsa took two.

Aptus completed their bonus point victory by bowling out Mabellah to 152 in 20 overs. Sharif Pindook top scored for Mabellah with 56. Sooraj Suseela and Abheesh claimed two and three wickets each respective­ly for Aptus.
