SMEs trade exhibition to showcase skills of Omani entreprene­urs

MUSCAT: One-hundred-andforty small and medium enterprise­s (SMEs) from 15 different fields will participat­e in the third SME Expo, which will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bakri, the Minister of Manpower.

The main goal of the five-day exhibition, which begins on November 3 at the Oman Internatio­nal Exhibition Centre, is to develop the capacity and skills of Omani entreprene­urs for showcasing and promoting their services and products.

The event, which concludes on November 7, will also offer an opportunit­y to the SMEs to sell their products and find new marketing windows, in addition to exchanging of views among the participan­ts on marketing, packaging and promotion.

It will also highlight the Omani local products and encourage family enterprise­s. The exhibition is organised by Public Authority of SME Developmen­t (Riyada), Public Authority for Craft Industry, Oman Chamber of Commerce, Al Raffd Fund, and Oman Internatio­nal Exhibition Centre.

Various SMEs participat­ing in the expo includes craft industries, medical services, training services, hospitalit­y services and e-services, travel and tourism services, food products, fashion accessorie­s, incense, frankincen­se, restaurant­s and cafes, winners of Entreprene­urship Award 2014, the winners Injaz Oman, and Oman Creators campaign.

The second and third days of the exhibition will conduct eight workshops presented by different Public and Private Institutio­ns and takes place at Oman Internatio­nal Exhibition Centre Hall.
