Orpic wins top award for student internship programme
MUSCAT: Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) has received the ‘Localisation Strategy of the Year’ award for its student internship training programme at the Oil & Gas Middle East and Refining & Petrochemical Middle East Awards 2015.
The awards aim at recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements made within the upstream and downstream sectors in the oil and gas industry in the Middle East.
The awards also acknowledge companies that display best practices in the key areas of operational excellence, innovation, environmental stewardship, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and excellence in health and safety.
The award event was attended by over 200 industry professionals from the region’s biggest and best national oil companies and leading oilfield technology and service providers. Nofal Al Saidi, general manager (Human resources services), Orpic, said, “It is a great honour to receive this award which is a testament of our commitment and hard work towards the government’s nationalisation drive.”
“Students are taught about the importance of hard work, commitment and integrity at our work place. This allows them to develop an in-depth understanding of our work culture and promotes a sense of belonging. We are glad to receive this award and hope that we maintain this momentum and bring greater prosperity to this blessed nation,” the official said.
