BankDhofar supports camel race in Adam

MUSCAT: Reiterating its support to the community and involvement in various activities that aim to promote Omani culture and heritage, BankDhofar sponsored a camel race event that took place recently at Saih Al Sarya in the Wilayat of Adam.

The event was attended by invited guests, sheikhs and dignitaries, and brought together camel sports fans from all parts of Oman and across the region, says a press release.

Commenting on the event, Ahmed Said Al Ibrahim, chief corporate services officer at BankDhofar, stressed on the bank’s proactive role in supporting community development and the various initiatives taken by the bank as part of its outreach and social involvement.

“We at BankDhofar believe that we are an integral member of society and it is our obligation to extend our support and participate in various social activities.

“This race in particular aimed at promoting Omani cultural heritage and traditional sports, as well as enriching the local economy through attracting tourists to the Wilayat of Adam.”

The full day event included 14 rounds of intense competition and wrapped up with an award distribution ceremony that was attended by Rashid Majid Al Mahrouqi, Adam branch manager, Khalid Ahmed Al Shanfari, manager, Corporate Sponsorship and acting CSR manager at BankDhofar, and the race organiser Abdullah Harib Al Daraie.
