Khimji Ramdas launches special documentary series

-

MUSCAT: As a tribute to Oman’s 45th National Day, the Khimji Ramdas Group is shining the spotlight on those Omani youth who have launched successful careers and scaled great heights in their line of work.

The conglomerate will record the journey of these standout achievers through ‘ Proud to be Omani’ film documentary series in which they will be cast as inspiring role models demonstrating how hard work, perseverance and determination can overcome challenges, says a press release.

KR recently launched the first film in the series, which narrates the compelling story of Arafat Yasser Al Hinai, senior manager HR and Coordination at Khimji Ramdas. The film captures Al Hinai’s resilient spirit in the face of the toughest odds as he pushes on, undeterred and undaunted towards his life’s goals.

“This video is a message of hope that you can win against all odds. It is also a true reflection of KR’s well-known tag line – In Your Triumph Is Ours, to show that we share the same hopes, dreams and aspirations of our employees.

“The power of stories like Arafat’s brings out the best in our society, and proves that the younger generation is bound to take the country to greater heights,” said Rajive Ahuja, head of Corporate Communications, Khimji Ramdas.

Al Hinai’s moving narrative unfolds against a backdrop of Oman’s rugged and parched desert landscape, which ironically became his footpath, companion and guide as he made the long, solitary walk from Al Khuwair to Wadi Adai back in 1997.

Then, armed with newspaper and 200 baisas, he would cover miles on foot each day between home and work, the scorching desert heat never once squelching the desire to press on. In the documentary Al Hinai recalls the day when his luck turned around.

“My life changed when I joined Khimji Ramdas in 2001. With God’s help and my own will power and perseverance as well as the support of my family I could climb the ladder of success.”

Ten years later in 2011 he was designated senior unit manager.

“I feel a great sense of pride and gratitude towards my employers at Khimji Ramdas for choosing to feature me in the ‘Proud to be Omani’ film documentary series.

“I also thank all my family mem- bers who have been my role models at different stages of my life and career. When I see the smiles and happiness on their faces, I feel a sense of achievement and satisfaction,” he said.

Through the video, Al Hinai strikes a chord with his humility and strong work ethic.

“We see an ordinary, hard-working Omani citizen follow his dream and overcoming challenges along the way with patience and strong determination. We are taken into the hearts and homes of his family who have helped mould him into the strong-willed, independent individual he is today.

“This is the dawn of a new era in Omani youth culture. Our documentary series depicts a very resurgent class of upcoming Omanis who are determined, hard-working and resilient. For KR this is just the beginning of a bigger dream to empower Oman, its people and beautiful image,” said Nailesh Khimji, director, Khimji Ramdas.
