UAE Exchange gets ISO 27001 certification
MUSCAT: UAE Exchange, one of the largest global remittance and foreign exchange brand, on Tuesday said that it has recertified their information security management system (ISMS) as per the latest ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard.
The certification ensures that only authorised users have access to information and enables prompt detection of security breaches. The ISO 27001:2013, being the latest version of the International Standard for Information Security Management, provides a framework and a systematic approach to implement effective controls that help in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of customer data.
UAE Exchange had earlier received its ISMS certified against ISO 27001:2005 standard in 2012. “Operating in a global environment makes it imperative for us to manage and secure company and customer information from various security threats. We are delighted to be the first remittance brand to achieve the ISO 27001:2013 certification,” said Promoth Manghat, chief executive officer of UAE Exchange.
Global standards
“This certificate is a testament of our continued focus on meeting the global standards for information security and provides our customers, partners and regulators the confidence that we manage our systems, operations and data in a secure manner,” he added.
Information is a valuable business asset in today’s environment that can make or break any business. The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 helps the business to achieve compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ISMS also ensures that a common set of policies, procedures and controls are in place to manage risks to information security.
