Master chef Pankaj Bhadouria presents signature dishes to The Indian’s Delight

MUSCAT: Renowned Indian Master Chef Pankaj Bhadouria officially unveiled The Indian’s Delight restaurant’s special signature dishes on Monday.

The signature dishes, which were exclusivel­y presented for the restaurant, will be unique additions to their wide-ranging menu of pure vegetarian food that truly reflects the authentic taste of classic Indian cuisine, says a press release.

Master Chef Pankaj Bhadouria, who was the winner of Master Chef India Contest (Season 1, 2010), presented a North Indianbase­d vegetarian starter dish and a dessert during the event. The starter ‘ Khoya Khubani Ke Kebab’ is a special dish made of raw banana, potatoes, apricots and khoya, shallow fried on a heated griddle and served hot. Adding a sweet and finishing touch to the event, Bhadouria also presented a dessert ‘ Saunfiyan Phirni’ which is a fennel seed flavoured creamy rich dessert with a gulkand (rose petal flavoured) cream topping.

Bhadouria, who visited Oman for the first time, is from the Indian city of Lucknow, who started off her journey from a school teacher to a celebrity chef. She quit her 16-year-old teaching profession to follow her dreams and pursue her passion for cooking. She was the first master chef winner worldwide to have an official master chef cookbook in her name and has written two more cookery books Barbie - I am a Chef and Chicken from my Kitchen (Bloomsbury Publishing). She has hosted many TV shows like Chef Pankaj Ka Zayka (Star Plus), Kifayati Kitchen (Zee Khana Khazana), 3 Course with Pankaj (Zee Khana Khazana) and Rasoi se Pankaj Bhadouria ke Saath (ETV). She does a lot of workshops and cookery demonstrat­ions and is rated as one of the few TV chefs with a great deal of integrity for her thoughtful and meticulous recipes on TV shows.

Speaking at the event, Bhadouria said: “This is my first visit to Oman and I am absolutely delighted to have presented my signature dishes exclusivel­y to The Indian’s Delight restaurant. I am glad to be a part of this restaurant by adding my own stamp to their menu of delectable offerings.

“Every iconic chef has certain defining recipes and these dishes that I have introduced here are very special to me as they are my own way of making and presenting them. I am sure the new dishes would receive tremendous re- sponse from customers in Oman.”

Commenting on their restaurant, Shankar Narayan, the managing partner of The Indian’s Delight restaurant (brother-in-law of N. S. S. Subramania­n, group general manager, Oasis Water Company) said: “We would like to thank Master Chef Pankaj Bhadouria for accepting our invitation and flying in from India to introduce these exciting new signature dishes which help perfect our menu. The signature dishes will soon be available on order from our restaurant. We hope the dishes eventually become successful and help typify our restaurant’s goal of offering customers food with a twist that will help us stand out from the crowd. We look forward to diners experienci­ng our culinary ingenuity.”

The Indian’s Delight is a speciality pure vegetarian restaurant which has some of the best and well known vegetarian dishes from various parts of Northern, Central, Western and Southern India.
