Inter house sports gala held at PSM

MUSCAT: The annual inter house sports meet was held recently at the Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) campus ground with great zeal and zest. The event was organised under the supervision of Atahullah Niazi, senior principal, says a press release.

The first stage of the event was the assembly of athletes in the ground. It marked another great day in the history of the school when the athletes lined up in the ground, representing their respective houses, Jinnah House (Green), Iqbal House (Blue), Sir Syed House (Yellow) and Johar House (Red), under the respective flags.

PSM principal Khalid Jadoon declared the annual sports gala 2016 open. He was escorted by Munazza Ghafoor, principal Jun- ior Wing, PSM and Samina Khan, principal PS Buraimi.

The grand march past of the athletes was a colourful display which ended in great applause by the audience.

A total of 56 events were conducted which included 20, 30, 50, 100, 200 and 400 metre races. The races were held categorywise to provide chance of participation to maximum number of students. Junior, middle and senior categories were all lined up for the participation. In addition to it the students from the Centre for Special Students also participated.

In addition to the track events additional interesting events were also organised. Winners were awarded medals for specific positions on the victory stand.
