Turkish Airlines celebrates Euro finals

MUSCAT: Turkish Airlines is the first airline partner in the 55-year history of the European Football Championsh­ip, and launched a number of initiative­s to excite fans throughout this summer’s tournament. The carrier’s #EuropesBes­t campaign highlighte­d the best football fans from across the continent for UEFA Euro 2016.

It included television commercial­s, unique plane liveries, ticket giveaways and a dedicated microsite. Live matches were available to watch on Turkish Airlines planes and fans and tourists were able to enjoy striking branding across some of Paris’s most famous landmarks, including the Champs Elysees, says a press release.

Turkish Airlines ignited passion in Europe’s football fans by taking David Guetta’s UEFA Euro 2016anthem to the 24 competing nations. Turkish Airlines were also driving excitement by welcoming players on to the pitch.

Cabin crew brought their world class customer service to the football field by featuring two hostesses at all 51 matches of the competitio­n. M. İlker Aycı, Turkish Airlines’ chairman of the board and the executive committee commented: “Turkish Airlines congratula­tes UEFA and the French authoritie­s on conducting such a successful event.

This year’s European Football Championsh­ip has brought together fans from all over the world in celebratio­n of the football spirit and we are glad to have been a part of this journey.”

Turkish Airlines has extensive sponsorshi­p of many sporting and cultural events, including European Profession­al Club Rugby, The Turkish Airlines Basketball Euroleague, the Turkish Airlines Open golf tournament and the world’s leading equestrian event, CHIO Aachen.
