Bank Sohar conducts first three draws of ‘Get Rewarded on your Spends’ promo
MUSCAT: One month into its ongoing ‘ Get Rewarded on your Spends’ credit card usage promotion, Bank Sohar has now conducted the first of three draws, announcing the names of the first 30 winners of the promotion.
The promotion which was launched on May 15 and will be ending on August 15, will see 90 lucky winners in total receive cash back of up to OMR300 on their spends each. The first draw event of the promotion was conducted at the bank’s head office in MBD in the presence of the bank’s executive management. The names of the winners have been posted through advertisements issued by the bank and on its social media pages, says a press release.
Commenting on the promotion, Khamis Masoud Al Rahbi, senior AGM and acting head of Retail Banking, said, “We have developed our Excel Credit Cards with the aim of being amongst the most valued and rewarding credit cards in the market. This promotion was yet another way to achieve that goal; offering our customers rewards in the form of cash back for making purchases using their credit cards. Furthermore, we have ensured to keep the promotion unrestricted allowing customers to not only participate in the promotion but also avail of other ongoing promotions and benefits currently running on eligible excel cards, including both the Internet Easy Instalment Plan (IEPP) offer and the bank’s ‘Mukaaf ’aat Al Mumayaz’ Cards Loyalty programme.”
As part of the ongoing promotion titled ‘Get Rewarded on your Spends’, Bank Sohar has introduced a rewarding way to shop using any of its Excel Classic, Gold, Platinum, Internet or Infinite Credit Cards. For every minimum purchase of OMR20, either through Point of Sale (POS) or over the internet, customers are automatically entered into a monthly draw. Each draw will see 30 customers win cash back on their winning purchase amounting to a maximum of up to OMR300 each. Furthermore, customers who spend more than OMR1,000 on a single transaction at any time during the offer period will also have their annual credit card renewal fee waived.

With two more sets of draws yet to be conducted over the following two months I would like to wish all of our Excel Credit Card customers the best of luck.”
As an added benefit to all Bank Sohar Excel Credit Card Holders, purchases made are also eligible for the Bank’s Internet Easy Instalment Plan (IEPP) offer. As part of the offer, customers can enjoy the ease of payment and the convenience of converting purchases into three, six or 12 months instalments at 0% interest.
In addition, Bank Sohar Cards Loyalty Programme - ‘Mukaaf ’aat Al Mumayaz’ can also be availed through this offer with two of the bank’s premier credit cards; Excel Platinum Credit Card and Excel Diamond Infinite Credit Card. This programme allows card holders to accumulate one point for every OMR1 spent using their credit cards. These points can then be redeemed as cash at the rate of OMR1 for every 100 points accumulated.
