Bank Sohar supports Oman Cancer Association
MUSCAT: Under the framework of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and marking its eighth CSR-related donation for the current year, Bank Sohar recently extended its support to Al Dakhiliya Branch of the Oman Cancer Association.
This latest donation will support the association’s cancer awareness workshops that will be held in different locations across the region throughout the year. The donation also marks the first collaboration the bank has had with the Al Dakhiliya Branch of the Oman Cancer Association, says a press release.
The donation cheque was handed overatBankSohar’sNizwaBranchto Nasser Said Al Shakily, chairman of OmanCancerAssociation–AlDakhiliya Branch by Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, AGM & head of Marketing and Customer Experience at Bank Sohar, in the presence of Juma Masaaod Al Dawudi, Senior Nizwa Branch manager, Bank Sohar.
Commenting on the bank’s contribution to the association, Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM of HR and Corporate Support at Bank Sohar said, “Cancer is a disease that has a lasting effect not just on the patients, but also on their family and friends. Through associations such as the Oman Cancer Association, and their various initiatives, awareness can be spread on the disease while reaching out to cancer patients and offering them the much needed support. We, as a community oriented bank, are truly glad to be in a po- sition to support such valuable initiatives.” Thanking Bank Sohar for its support, Nasser Said Al Shukaili, chairman of Al Dakhiliya Branch of the Oman Cancer Association said, “These workshops play a significant role in spreading awareness on this life-altering disease and its early diagnosis and prevention. As a result obtaining as much support as possible for such programs is vital to their success.
