BankDhofar celebrates Tourism Festival with various initiatives
SALALAH: As the Governorate of Dhofar celebrates the khareef monsoon season and welcomes visitors from Oman and the region, BankDhofar has extended its support to the highly popular Salalah Tourism Festival 2016 as a gold sponsor.
Over the years, BankDhofar has played a key role in sponsoring and supporting various events and festivals across the Sultanate, boosting its presence as an integral part of the community and a major contributor to the social development, in addition to supporting the initiatives that back the country’s efforts towards a sustainable and diverse economy, says a press release.
Sami Omar Al Zadjali, executive manager - Marketing & Corporate Communications at BankDhofar, commented on the bank’s participation in the festivities of Salalah Tourism Festival. “This festival is one of the biggest tourism events of the year to showcase Oman’s rich cultural history and its vast tourism potential and stunning beauty. We at BankDhofar are proud to participate in this year’s festival as a gold sponsor and it is our real pleasure to participate in event of such national significance. We also launched a social media competition to give the public the opportunity to showcase their best pictures or videos celebrating the festival and the chance to win amazing prizes,” he noted.
“The #Khareef_with_BankDhofar competition kicked off on July 17 and will last through August 15. Winners of the best images and videos will get valuable cash prizes that range between OMR500 and OMR100, with the total value of prizes worth OMR3.200. Under the terms and conditions of the competition, participants should be the owners of their design/video,” said Al Zadjali.
Maisarah Islamic Banking Services, BankDhofar’s Islamic banking window, has also participated in the festival activities with a pavilion at the festival grounds, encompassing cash withdrawal facilities and customer support services.
As part of its community involvement, the BankDhofar has distributed tents to restaurants and coffee shops in touristic areas. The initiative aims to enhance the facilities available for visitors and residents of Salalah during the high season. Salalah Tourism Festival attracts large numbers of visitors from overseas and within the Sultanate every year. The event allows visitors to experience the unique climate of the Dhofar region and the cultural heritage and authentic Omani hospitality.
