BankDhofar celebrates Tourism Festival with various initiative­s

SALALAH: As the Governorat­e of Dhofar celebrates the khareef monsoon season and welcomes visitors from Oman and the region, BankDhofar has extended its support to the highly popular Salalah Tourism Festival 2016 as a gold sponsor.

Over the years, BankDhofar has played a key role in sponsoring and supporting various events and festivals across the Sultanate, boosting its presence as an integral part of the community and a major contributo­r to the social developmen­t, in addition to supporting the initiative­s that back the country’s efforts towards a sustainabl­e and diverse economy, says a press release.

Sami Omar Al Zadjali, executive manager - Marketing & Corporate Communicat­ions at BankDhofar, commented on the bank’s participat­ion in the festivitie­s of Salalah Tourism Festival. “This festival is one of the biggest tourism events of the year to showcase Oman’s rich cultural history and its vast tourism potential and stunning beauty. We at BankDhofar are proud to participat­e in this year’s festival as a gold sponsor and it is our real pleasure to participat­e in event of such national significan­ce. We also launched a social media competitio­n to give the public the opportunit­y to showcase their best pictures or videos celebratin­g the festival and the chance to win amazing prizes,” he noted.

“The #Khareef_with_BankDhofar competitio­n kicked off on July 17 and will last through August 15. Winners of the best images and videos will get valuable cash prizes that range between OMR500 and OMR100, with the total value of prizes worth OMR3.200. Under the terms and conditions of the competitio­n, participan­ts should be the owners of their design/video,” said Al Zadjali.

Maisarah Islamic Banking Services, BankDhofar’s Islamic banking window, has also participat­ed in the festival activities with a pavilion at the festival grounds, encompassi­ng cash withdrawal facilities and customer support services.

As part of its community involvemen­t, the BankDhofar has distribute­d tents to restaurant­s and coffee shops in touristic areas. The initiative aims to enhance the facilities available for visitors and residents of Salalah during the high season. Salalah Tourism Festival attracts large numbers of visitors from overseas and within the Sultanate every year. The event allows visitors to experience the unique climate of the Dhofar region and the cultural heritage and authentic Omani hospitalit­y.
