Trade fair on ideal home environment opens tomorrow
MUSCAT: Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, chairman of the Tender Board, will formally inaugurate tomorrow the 6th edition of The Home Show, the Sultanate’s signature trade fair spotlighting the latest products, services, trends and technologies centring on the ideal home environment.
The four-day event, which concludes on December 8, will be held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Madinat Al Irfan, the city’s newest destination for conferences, business, tourism and leisure, says a press release.
Organised by leading Omani events management firm Global Exhibitions & Conferences (GEC), The Home Show showcases a comprehensive array of products and services encompassing all facets of the home-building, interiors, furnishing, fixtures and home ownership space. More than 100 well-established companies and brands representing key players from markets around the world are being featured at the 2016 edition of this popular trade fair.
Displayed amid the expansive and hi-tech settings of Hall-1 of Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, where The Home Show is being held, is a diverse selection of furniture and furnishings, bedroom and bathroom sets, kitchen systems and appliances, doors and windows, home appliances and electronics, wall and floor coverings, lighting and fixtures, and smart home solutions.
Underscoring the importance of the trade fair to local retail, contracting, consumer and service sectors of the economy, a number of government ministries and agencies have endorsed the event. Topping the list is the Ministry of Housing, which is the patron of the Home Show.
Oman Housing Bank, Oman Real Estate Association, Muscat Electricity Distribution Company and Riyada extended their support to the event.
As the nation’s definitive showcase of the ideal home environment, The Home Show has also attracted strong sponsorship support. This year’s event is supported by Berger Paints and Global Pyramid as gold sponsor; Stoermer Kitchens (Dhawahi AlAyin Trading Est.) as silver sponsor and Al Jassar Furnishing, Al Mimari Industries - Pro Windows, Taj Al Lulu Ceramics as associate sponsor.
In a notable addition to this edition, visitors stand to win attractive prizes when they participate in pair exciting online contests. ‘Get Inspired and Win’ is an opportunity to get creative by suggesting a title for an artwork created on stone by contemporary Italian artist Lucia Olive.
Well-known Omani firm Al Jassar Furnishing is also giving away home furniture as prizes in a competition outlined on the organiser’s website. Visiting hours are: Dec 5 - 10am - 1:30pm & 4:30pm to 9pm / Dec 6 to 8 - 3pm - 9:30pm.
