Al Bhaj Trading to participate in Muscat Book Fair
MUSCAT: Al Bhaj Books, the leading book distributors in Oman, will be participating in the 22nd Muscat International Book Fair (MIBF), which will be held at the new Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre between 10am and 10 pm from February 22 to March 4.
“A large collection of over 5,000 titles, including pre-school, self-improvement, management books, health, language learning, cookery, general knowledge, biography, educational reference, CBSE guides and vocational training books will be on display at our stall, said P. M. Shouckathali, managing director of Al Bhaj Books.
The stall will also have fiction and non-fiction books in English and Malayalam languages from a wide range of publishers. Al Bhaj, authorised distributor of India’s most popular publishing house, DC Books, has been operating in the Sultanate for the last two-and-a-half decades and has been supplying books to schools, colleges, leading books shops and hyper markets across the country, including Salalah. Shouckathali said Al Bhaj stall had received an overwhelming response from book lovers in Oman last year at the book fair.
“Reading habit is growing in Oman, despite the influence of Internet. There has been a growing demand for all categories of books. We expect a larger participation this year also.”
New titles and latest editions, which were published in the last one year across the world, will be available at the stall, he added. As many as 750 publishers from 28 countries will participate in the forthcoming book fair, which is one of the largest book fairs in the region. Around 590 publishers are directly participating at the fair, while another 160 published are taking part in the event through their authorised dealers.
