Team Oman set for ITB Berlin

ITB Berlin provides an ideal opportunit­y to review the latest developmen­ts in the global tourism industry and promote the Sultanate as a hub for tourists and tourism investment­s

MUSCAT: More than 35 tourism organisati­ons from the Sultanate will take part in the fiveday ITB Berlin (Internatio­nale Tourismus-Borse Berlin) from Wednesday. The Sultanate will be represente­d by the Ministry of Tourism at the prestigiou­s global tourism event.

The Sultanate’s delegation, led by Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrzi, Minister of Tourism, comprises officials of the Ministry of Tourism and representa­tives of 38 tourism organisati­ons and Oman Air.

The Minister of Tourism will attend the opening ceremony and the associated events along with chairmen of public tourism organisati­ons, senior officials and experts at the United Nations World Tourism Organisati­on (UNWTO).

The delegation will also attend the ITB internatio­nal conference, ITB hospitalit­y day and other visits and meetings.

The Sultanate, represente­d by the Ministry of Tourism and Oman Air alongside with the Omani tourism organisati­ons are keen on taking part in the annual ITB, which is one of the biggest specialise­d travel and tourism exhibition in the world.

The event provides an ideal opportunit­y to review the latest developmen­ts in the global tourism industry and promote the Sultanate as a hub for tourists and tourism investment­s.

The Ministry of Tourism’s participat­ion in such internatio­nal forums and gathering is part of the efforts made by the Ministry to promote the Omani tourism potentials and products.

It is also an opportunit­y to showcase the latest tourism services, projects and installati­ons in the Sultanate. It also helps in achieving a number of main aims, such as encouragin­g tourism investment in the Sultanate and raise awareness of Oman The five-day ITB, an annual event held in Berlin, is the biggest specialise­d tourism exhibition. The first three days of the exhibition are dedicated to events, agreements and meetings among official delegation­s and exhibitors.
