ISAM celebrates annual day
MUSCAT: Indian School Al Mabelah (ISAM) celebrated its sixth annual day recently amidst great zest under the presence of Indra Mani Pandey, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman. The four-hour event brought to life, the colours of creativity and talent, with programmes including dance, music and mime.
Wilson V. George, Chairman, Board of Directors to the Indian Schools in Oman and Siddiqua Abdul Majeed Al Lawatiya, director, International Schools Office, Ministry of Education, Muscat were the guests of honour. The occasion was attended by the presence of other DICs, Baby Samuel, Prabhakar Tijare, Chandrahas K. Anchan, Asawari Deoras. The event began with the inauguration of the new multipurpose court by the chief guest. It was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest and welcome speech by the Head Girl, Maariya Raza.
Principal P. Prabakaran addressed the gathering and presented the school’s annual report 2016-17. The report highlighted the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the academic year.
Kurien Eapan Chandrathil, president - School Management Committee delivering the presidential address, stressed on the development that the school has achieved since its inception.
Al Lawatiya congratulated the community of Indian students for the fabulous performances they put forward. The giveaway of annual awards and prizes was graced by the chief guest and the guests of honour.
The dazzling performances commenced with the compering done by 1001 Arabian Nights characters. The hallmark performances included welcome dance, Dwarf dance, Skit by the tiny tots of KG, Karnatic classical song, western dance, rocking song by students and teachers, fluorescent dance, mime on Swatch Bharat, tribal dance, skit on online predators, contemporary and folk dance all accompanied by a spectacular display of lights. The magnificent event came to a close with the vote of thanks by Vismaya, School Cultural Secretary.
