SEZAD partners with ODP to host its Data Centre platform
MUSCAT: The Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZAD), the biggest special economic zone in the Middle East region, has entered into an agreement to host its Data Centre infrastructure with Oman Data Park (ODP), the first cloud service provider in Oman.
The new partnership with ODP strengthens the position of SEZAD when it is poised to be the home for various mega projects ensuring that the area is fit for a wide number of business activities to meet the needs of investors. SEZAD will be the first client of ODP at its Duqm Data Centre, which is expected to be operational in the 4th quarter of 2017. The Data Centre will provide a fully secure environment for hosting SEZAD Colocation services with a guaranteed Service Level Agree- ment (SLA) that enhances operational efficiency with the highest level of security to meet the rapid growth of SEZAD.
SEZAD has many competitive advantages to its credit, which qualify it to become a logistic and marine hub not only for Oman but also for the Gulf region.
The area will house an advanced petrochemical industries complex that will use secured oil and natural gas supplies. It will also house an integrated manufacturing industry area that utilises the available natural resources in the Al Wusta governorate.
