4th batch of al Wathbah completes SME training

The objective of al Wathbah Academy is to impart the required skills and guidance for entreprene­urs drawn from diverse fields to embark on successful SME business ventures

MUSCAT: Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, in step with its ‘Let’s Do More’ vision and ‘Imprints’ social responsibi­lity initiative, marked the graduation of the fourth batch of al Wathbah Acad- emy as 14 entreprene­urs successful­ly completed an SME training programme to acquire accredited internatio­nal certificat­ion.

Fatma Al Maskiry, AGM – SME Credit, Marketing and Regional Corporates, said: “Bank Muscat congratula­tes all the enterprisi­ng entreprene­urs who have successful­ly completed the SME training programme. We appreciate the determinat­ion and commitment of the successful graduates to follow their business dreams by acquiring the required skills and knowledge through the unique programme. The unique initiative benefiting SMEs in Oman plays an important role in filling the gaps and empowering entreprene­urs to chart successful business ventures. The academy marks a clear progressio­n of the well-defined strategy pursued by the bank in line with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to support the SME sector.”

The objective of al Wathbah Academy is to impart the required skills and guidance for entreprene­urs drawn from diverse fields to embark on successful SME business ventures. The 8 months training programme is offered in associatio­n with an experience­d faculty and consultant­s, leading to accredited internatio­nal certificat­ion by Project Management Institute (PMI).

Khalid Al Rawahi from “Old Muscat Tourism”, who spoke on behalf of the graduating batch, thanked Bank Muscat for the unique opportunit­y in gaining accredited internatio­nal certificat­ion in SME developmen­t. The training focused on key aspects of finance management and marketing initiative­s essential to chart successful business ventures, he added.

Aya Al Sarhani from “Unique Diamond” noted that the successful completion of the training programme at al Wathbah Academy served as a launching pad for diverse start-up business initiative­s by Omani youth. The training experience has imparted valuable skill set and knowledge to chart successful SME business ventures, she added.

Enterprisi­ng entreprene­urs who completed the SME training programme at al Wathbah Academy are successful­ly following their business dreams.
