Bank Sohar supports Toastmaster contest
MUSCAT: Bank Sohar recently supported the Toastmaster International Annual Contest - Oman Division - as part of continuous efforts to develop effective communication and leadership skills among its members and professionals of the club.
The event was conducted under the patronage of Tariq Hilal Al Barwani, Founder of knowledge Oman (IT Expert). Representing Bank Sohar at the event and receiving the token of appreciation on its behalf was Fahad Mohammed Al Mawali – Chief Treasury at Bank Sohar.
Commenting on the event, Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM of HR and Corporate Support, Bank Sohar, said, “Bank Sohar has always placed great emphasis on supporting important initiatives such as the Toastmaster International Annual Contest, which develops inherent leadership and communication skills among prospective industry professionals. Bank Sohar’s objective in supporting such events, was to emphasize the need for youth and professionals in the industry to acquire vital leadership skills in order to stay motivated and inspired to perform to the best of their ability.”
This year’s event was attended by over 200 attendees and served to effectively reinforcing the importance of sound leadership and communication skills. It was hosted in Arabic and English, drawing participation from all nationals in the age group of 22 to 55 years. An eight-panel judge on four main speech categories – international, basic, table topics and evaluationevaluated contestants.

The bank has also implemented several successful development and performance enhancing programmes as part of its own ongoing internal development regime.
