Omani entrepreneurs take part in Tajawuz expedition

-

MUSCAT: Startup Oman, the Sultanate’s only online platform created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, and Outward Bound Oman went on their May Tajawuz Entrepreneurship Expedition 2017 during the last weekend.

Tajawuz is a 3 night, 4 day expedition designed and executed by Startup Oman in collaboration with Outward Bound Oman. The programme aims to provide a first-of-its-kind experiential learning experience to Omani entrepreneurs within Oman’s natural environment. The expedition is focused on challenging entrepreneurial mindsets.

Nine Omani entrepreneurs took part in the expedition. They went to Jabal Al Akhdar with the goal of exploring their business challenges all the while they are challenged by the physical environment of Oman’s difficult terrains. Detaching from their businesses gave them a much-needed time to iden- tify solutions to their most pressing entrepreneurial challenges.

“We are lucky to have a country with different environments which we believe that it reflects on the Omani entrepreneurs and the variety of businesses they are willing to set up from scratch,” said Ali Daud, co-founder of Startup Oman. “Entrepreneurship has a lot of similarities with being out in nature and it is always good for our entrepreneurs to get out of their comfort zone in order to learn the different skills they use in their daily life of overseeing their businesses.”

“Nowadays, more Omanis are heading to entrepreneurship and starting their own business and they proved that they are up to the challenge and raise the Omani flag higher. My experience with Tajawuz gave me the boost I needed to work harder on this shared goal,” Al Mundher Al Battashi, founder of Ruken Al Pizza.
