Sohar Islamic honoured at Holy Quran Memorising Competition
The competition ‘Rattel Wa Artaqi’ is an annual event organised by the Board of Parents in Wilayat Bousher in association with Al Khuwair Boys School and in coordination with the Islamic Education Department of the Muscat governorate
MUSCAT: In its continues efforts to support local initiatives, Sohar Islamic - Bank Sohar’s dedicated Islamic banking window was recently honoured for being silver sponsor of the 12th edition of the ‘ Rattel Wa Artaqi’ Holy Quran competition.
The felicitation was held at Sultan Qaboos University under the auspices of Dr Fuad bin Jafar Al Sajwani, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries. Representing Sohar Islamic at the event and receiving the token of appreciation was Haifer Juma Hussai Al Zadjali, chief relationship manager at Sohar Islamic.
Salim Khamis Saif Al Maskari, DGM and head of Sohar Islamic said, “One of our main objectives is to develop Islamic culture in our beloved country by actively supporting initiatives that foster spiritual awareness among students within the local community as well as promote young talents. We are happy to align ourselves with such initiatives because they also bring us closer to the community, helps in spreading the Islamic values and development of our youth.”
The Holy Quran competition ‘Rattel Wa Artaqi’ is an annual event organised by the Board of Parents in Wilayat Bousher in association with Al Khuwair Boys School and in coordination with the Islamic Education Depart- ment of the Muscat governorate. Being an open competition for student from grades 5 to 9, The ‘Rattel Wa Artaqi‘ competition this year witnessed numerous participations from a range of 26 public, private and international schools from across the Sultanate where students from each of these schools showcased their skills of memorising and reciting several Quran verses.
