CD game for children withdrawn due to immoral content
MUSCAT: Officials have pulled a children’s game off the market for having immoral content, the PACP announced.
The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has seized copies of a CD game from the market in Buraimi for containing pictures that are “shameful and immoral to the public”.
A customer had apparently reported the issue, as he bought the CD game for his son. When playing the game, scenes of an immoral content appeared. The parent immediately informed the Authority, which in turn formed a team to inspect the shops that sell the electronic game.
The CDs have been withdrawn from the market, in preparation for legal proceedings.

Issa bin Saeed Al Saidi, the official responsible for the operation of the Head of Market Regulation and Control Section, said that inquiries were made with the sellers about the source of the CDs, and legal procedures are ongoing.
“Conservative families and so- ciety face many challenges with the presence of modern technology. Recently, many children’s games contain scenes of bloody violence and illegal actions. There are even scenes of a scandalous nature and taste with the public,” Al Saidi said.
“It is very important that parents monitor their children to protect them from exposure to anything that may affect their values. There is a need to limit the spread of such programs and games, and report any issues,” he added.
