Ooredoo Goodwill Journey reaches Dhofar

-

MUSCAT: The Ooredoo Goodwill convoy continued its journey of joy and contributions to the development of communities across Oman.

Kick-starting its second day in the Sharqiyah region with the distribution of headsets for use with mobile phones to drivers in order to keep them safe and legal on the roads. The convoy then reached Duqm where the team of fasting volunteers distributed goods to households and people with special needs in collaboration with the Department of Social Development. The volunteers then continued their journey to Dhofar Governorate and reached the Omani Women Association in Dhalkot.

While in Dhalkot the team establish the sixth new incubator of this year’s Goodwill Journey. Dedicated to helping women learn income-generating skills and equipping them with the potential to join the sultanate’s ambitious entrepreneurial community, the Ooredoo incubator programme provides vocational training and support for would-be businesswomen in information technology, beauty, cooking and sewing.

As Dhalkot is the final stop for the Ooredoo Goodwill convoy before it returns to Muscat and completes its community-focused mission for this year, the distribution of gifts to families in the area was particularly meaningful and moving for the volunteers.

Having travelled from the north of Oman to the south, visiting 11 towns, spreading countless smiles and celebrating the generous spirit of the holy month, the Ooredoo Goodwill team now heads to its finale at the Ooredoo headquarters at Muscat Grand Mall.
