Regional meeting discusses steps to raise productivi­ty

SALALAH: Strategies to raise productivi­ty are being discussed at a regional meeting that began here on Tuesday.

The 7th Gulf Human Resources Productivi­ty Developmen­t Conference kicked off on Tuesday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Salalah under the patronage of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar.

The conference is organised by Asayel Group for Event Management under the theme “Outstandin­g Job Performanc­e for Outstandin­g and Sustainabl­e Productivi­ty” in collaborat­ion with a number of government and private entities.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Nadabi, Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Civil Service for Civil Service, delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the conference seeks to focus on strategies aimed at increasing the productivi­ty of work and presenting the best applicatio­ns and successful practices in the field of measuring productivi­ty, its quality and impact on the working environmen­t and employee.

The conference will discuss a number of topics, including performanc­e measuremen­t tools and linking them to effective productivi­ty, creative thinking and selfempowe­rment to develop productivi­ty, as well as the promotion of social developmen­t through programs of happiness in work and the use of social media to stimulate productivi­ty.

The conference targets all categories of jobs from chief executive officers to supervisor­s in different work areas, managers and human resources officers, managers of production lines in different fields in the public and private sectors and entreprene­urs.
