Wage protection

Company officials and employees are happy with the move. Imtiaz Sikder, a financial advisor, said, “Enforcing this system will provide the right confidence in prospective talent, that may be looking at providing their expertise in Oman. I think no wage protection was hindering incoming talent, but this won’t be the case anymore. Moreover, employees are more likely to be productive, as they now know their salaries will be paid on time.”

Sabir Khan, an employee, said, “It is good that the ministry has come up with such a thing, as many small firms are not paying their staff at the right time. Now, they will not able to do that, with the ministry monitoring accounts.”
