Knowledge Oman to organise seminar on business funding

MUSCAT: As part of its mission of connecting communitie­s with knowledge, the Sultanate’s leading knowledge-sharing platform, Knowledge Oman, is launching the third free seminar on educating the public on the means of obtaining money to start and run a business successful­ly in Oman, under the theme “Funding Your Business.”

The seminar is scheduled for November 13, 2017 at PACA Training Centre.

Sharing expertise

“Our first seminar focused on sharing advice from successful business owners on how to become an entreprene­ur. The next seminar will focus on educating the public on how to receive the necessary funds to start and run a business,” said Khalfan Al Mahrazy, who is leading the seminar.

The seminar will include a mix of profession­al presentati­ons by representa­tives of key funding entities in the country, and a panel discussion featuring five successful business owners.

The speakers are Rajesh Ghosh, Head of Marketing and Business Developmen­t of SME Developmen­t Fund; Ali Al Lawati, Head Emerging and SME Corporates at bank Muscat; and Amira Al Zadjali, Deputy Director General of Planning and Developmen­t- Al Raffd. Panelists include Salwa Al Ghagri, the owner of Salwa Beauty Centre; Rawan Al Zakwani, owner of The Palace Restaurant; Fahd Al Saqri, CEO and co-founder of Basta Majan; Iman Al Amri, owner of Muscatia; and Adel Al Abri, one of the owners of National High Tide Enterprise­s.

The event comes as part of a series of projects that Knowledge Oman organises to contribute to the growth of the country by empowering society with the necessary knowledge and critical learning. It creates a profession­al platform for participan­ts to foster greater interest in entreprene­urship and economy related issues.

This event is sponsored by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA), Mazoon Printing and Gloria Geans.

The seminars are an opportunit­y for sharing knowledge and developing various sectors in Oman, in which attendees have the opportunit­y to interact directly with the speakers and panelists. This is in line with the various knowledge-driven initiative­s launched by Knowledge Oman, with its multi-national team.
