Popular Indian playback singer to perform in Sohar

MUSCAT: Mangaluru Balaga Sohar is organising an annual cultural event with a food festival and a live musical night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Sohar, on November 10 from 6pm onwards.

With a sincere commitment to promote the rich variety of Indian culture, Mangaluru Balaga will feature celebrated playback singer Vijay Prakash and his troupe, to entertain the Indian community in Sohar.

Vijay Prakash, the star South Indian playback singer from Karnataka, is one of the four artists credited for the hit song Jai Ho, which won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song. The song also won a Grammy Award in the category Best Song Written for Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.

Vijay Prakash will be performing for the first time in Sohar and the audience will be delighted listening to his melodious voice. Chaitra H. G, acclaimed playback singer, will be accompanyi­ng him. The audience will also enjoy the singing of Sakshi Bhagwat, the local talent from Oman.

Besides being enthralled with South India’s most popular songs, those attending this event will also get an opportunit­y to taste the delicious and mouth-watering Mangalorea­n and Udupi cuisine at the food festival.

This event is open to all and is sure to have an overwhelmi­ng response. It is expected that around 2,000 guests will attend this mega event.

The food festival and live musical night is being presented by Towell Engineerin­g Group and is being organised by Mangaluru Balaga Sohar, in associatio­n with Gulf Saas Events. Mangaluru Balaga Sohar extends an open invitation to all, to be present at its grand cultural event.
