Bank Sohar launches new social media contest

MUSCAT: Inspired by the success of its Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme, Bank Sohar has launched an exciting online contest for all its social media fans.

Titled ‘#Sawalif_Saif ’, the competitio­n kicked off on November 2 and will continue till November 16 on all of the bank’s social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It gives five followers the chance to each win OMR300 travel vouchers by identifyin­g the right Al Mumayaz savings category - using the hashtag#Sawalif_Saif - on a series of Sawalif Saif videos posted periodical­ly on the bank’s social media platforms during the competitio­n period.

In order to participat­e, customers are requested to follow the bank’s social media pages and leave a comment identifyin­g the right savings category mentioned in videos that are posted every three days from the commenceme­nt of the contest.

Commenting on the contest, Rajeev Arora - DGM & Head Retail Banking at Bank Sohar, said: “This competitio­n is an opportunit­y for all our customers and followers to get acquainted with our popular Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme and the myriad incentives that come with it. Since its launch, the scheme has been changing lives by offering the twin advantage of a sound financial savings instrument and the motivation to save. It has gained an even wider customer base with the reach of our social media platforms that have also facilitate­d meaningful engagement with our customers. With our rapidly growing online presence, the Al Mumayaz scheme, including our other market-leading products, have been able to reach a more diverse demographi­c and provide us with a deeper understand­ing of customer requiremen­ts.”

Bank Sohar’s social media platforms have been successful channels for open communicat­ion with its diverse customer demographi­c that includes individual­s and businesses. Through its active online presence, Bank Sohar has not only establishe­d strong relations with customers, it also generates awareness of its products and services, as well as community developmen­t and CSR initiative­s. This year alone the bank launched 5 competitio­ns across its social media platforms and as a result, Bank Sohar’s, social media presence has increased, currently standing at 74,620 fans across all its online channels.

The launch of the Sawalif Saif contest is expected to further drive up these statistics owing to the wide appeal of its Al Mumayaz Savings Scheme.
