Cement technology meet on November 20

MUSCAT: The first internatio­nal conference on cement and concrete technology will be conducted by the Institute of Concrete Technology from the United Kingdom, according to a press release.

The three-day conference, entitled ‘concrete for the modern age – developmen­ts in materials and processes,’ will be held between November 20 and 22, 2017 at the Military Technologi­cal College.

The conference will have speakers and attendees from across the world, who will discuss on latest developmen­ts in cement and concrete technology.

Keynote papers include high performanc­e concrete in the Gulf; the prospects for admixtures; the applicatio­n of 3D printing; the role of concrete in the developmen­t of Oman and performanc­e-based specificat­ions. Case studies from the Middle East will also be presented at the meeting.

Latest developmen­ts

With a wide-ranging review of the latest developmen­ts in concrete technology largely missing from the global conference circuit, the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT) is promoting its first major internatio­nal event, located in the Middle East at the heart of a constructi­on boom.

Themes covered in the conference are admixture technology, durability, mix design, special cements and supplement­ary materials, reinforced concrete and sustainabi­lity.

The event is sponsored by Readymix Muscat, BASF and Oman Cement Company.
