-

MUSCAT: Haya Water participated in the celebration of the Tree Day, which falls on October 31 each year, organised by Sultan Qaboos University.

Eng. Hussain bin Hassan AbdulHussain, CEO of Haya Water said that Haya Water is keen to annually participate in such exhibitions. This participation complies with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said’s directives to dedicate this day to celebrate the tree because of its significance to our lives and to encourage society to preserve trees.

He added that Haya Water is one of the leading companies in the field of environmental conservation through its utilisation of wastewater by treating and converting it into treated wastewater used for irrigation of trees and crops.

This treatment also contributes to the protection of groundwater from pollution caused by wastewater, which is transformed into suitable water used for irrigation and agriculture.

In addition, Haya Water takes advantage of the sludge resulting from sewage treatment by treating it and converting it into organic fertiliser used for fertilising trees and vegetables.

Haya Water participated this year, through an allocated special corner, which educates visitors about the company’s efforts in the field of tree conservation.

The students and visitors were introduced to the methods of wastewater treatment, especially the transformation process of sludge into organic fertiliser that contributes effectively to the growth of trees and plants.
