Bahwan Healthcare Centre holds blood donation camp

MUSCAT: Bahwan Healthcare Centre, one of the flagship companies of Suhail Bahwan Group, in association with Central Blood Bank, Department of Blood Services, Ministry of Health, conducted a blood donation camp at the Bahwan Medical Centre in Al Khuwair recently.

Amal Suhail Bahwan, the vice chairperson of Suhail Bahwan Group, inaugurated the camp in the presence of Dr Zainab Al Araimi, director, Blood Services and other officials from the Ministry of Health.

Amal said, “The act of donating blood may seem very small but considering the fact that few drops of blood donated by an individual, it is critical in helping to save precious lives in need. It is great to see people taking time off during their weekend and volunteering to donate blood. We, at Suhail Bahwan Group, believe that such corporate social responsibility initiatives go a long way in creating a sense belonging and serving to the community. We are committed to conducting more such camps in association with the Central Blood Bank.”

The Directorate of Blood Services made excellent arrangements and several volunteers visited the camp and donated blood during the day.

On the occasion, Amal also honoured Ahmed Al Kharousi and Fael Al Saadi, who have donated blood more than 100 times, with a memento in appreciation of their selfless act.

Volunteers from Bahwan Healthcare Centre and staff members from Central Blood bank ensured that donors were taken through the process of basic medical check-up and blood collection in a seamless manner. BHC had also arranged to serve light snacks to the donors after blood collection.
