Armed Forces Day celebrated
MUSCAT: The Infantry Brigade ‘11’ and Firaq Forces at the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) marked the Armed Forces Day, which falls on December 11, and the Retirees Day, which falls on December 7 in a ceremony in the Governorate of Dhofar on Monday.
The function was held under the patronage of Abdullaziz bin Mohammed Al Rowas, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Cultural Affairs.
The ceremony began with a military salute to the chief guest, then, the parade column performed a parade in the regular and slow march accompanied. The chief guest and the attendees viewed various activities of the participants, besides presenting some of the Omani traditional arts and the some performs that are played by RAO musical band.
The ceremony included the decoration of long service and good conduct medals for a number of commissioned and noncommissioned officers.
Personnel of the Infantry Brigade (11) and Firaq Forces at RAO were also honoured in recognition of their sincere efforts and dedication in the performance of their national duty.
At the end of the ceremony, Al Rowas toured, along with the attendees, the exhibition, which is held to mark the glorious occasion.
