The company is also recognised as the Best Company in Social Investment in the Arab World in the ‘Arab Best’ competition.

The champions of the fifth edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Voluntary Work were named and honoured at the award ceremony held under the patronage of Sheikha Aisha bint Khalfan Al Siyabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries, in the presence of senior government officials, heads of associations, and senior representatives of the private sectors.

The award makes Oman LNG, Oman’s primary producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the first company in the Sul- tanate ever to win this prestigious recognition twice for an exemplary and vibrant CSR programmes.

HM Sultan Qaboos Award for Voluntary Work is considered the highest and most prestigious of national awards– an award many companies aspire to be recognised by. The awards introduced with the key objective of supporting, recognising and highlighting the efforts of social volunteers and organisations and their positive impact on the local community. Thus, it promotes the voluntary work that brings comprehensive benefits to all individuals and communities at large.

Oman LNG has an ambitious vision and dedication towards CSR through the Oman LNG Development Foundation.

The Foundation addresses four key pillars of sustainable social development; he first pillar being Corporate Social Responsibility delivered through a Community Fund targeting initiatives related to the Sur Community where its world-class, three-train liquefaction plant is located, a National Fund that covers social development programmes across the nation, and a Reserve Fund to provide CSR continuity and sustainability; the second helps Deliver value for Oman LNG; the third secure the future through collaborations and investments; and finally, the fourth a Centre of Excellence enabling others to develop CSR initiatives.

“We are delighted to be receiving this prominent award which is a testimony of our incessant CSR efforts deployed since the inception of Oman LNG. It reflects the value we bring to the area of CSR and the development of lasting and sustainable programmes and initiatives. We are extremely proud to lead the industry in this regard,” said Harib Al Kitani, chief executive officer of Oman LNG.

This renowned award is yet another acknowledgement of Oman LNG’s CSR efforts. Two other awards were recently received; Arab Best’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award and Arab Best’s 100 CEO listed Sheikh Khalid Al Massan, chief executive officer of Oman LNG Development Foundation (ODF), for his remarkable contribution to the growth of CSR development in Oman. Arab Best Organisation, an entity that recognises the achievement of individuals and corporations in different fields across the Arab world, sponsored the event. Astounded by the breadth and scale of Oman LNG’s CSR initiatives and sustainable formulae, the partners in the oil and gas industry acclaimed ODF as the new model upon which to build CSR in the Asia Pacific region; a true honour for Oman LNG.

Receiving these awards from government and reputable associations means Oman LNG – and Oman at large – are being accredited and acknowledged internationally as having an exemplary CSR model to develop and execute CSR efforts.

The international recognition of these awards reaches beyond Oman LNG; and touches Oman LNG’s Joint Venture Shareholder Partners, the Government of Oman and other stakeholders who helped to establish the vision of its CSR program and creation of ODF.

“We are very proud and humbled by receiving these prestigious awards,” said Khalid Al Massan. “It extensively reflects our determination and unremitting efforts to contribute to the development of our beloved Oman and encourages us to go further and do more in the future. We are contented that we have been touching lives and communities across the nation. We take this opportunity to thank all our stakeholders, above all the people in the communities, for their ceaseless support.”
