Majan College conducts ACCA IFRS certification for CMA candidates

MUSCAT: Majan College has successfully conducted ACCA IFRS diploma programme for Capital Market Authority (CMA) candidates.

As per results announced by ACCA on January 15, all candidates who participated in the programme have passed the diploma examination, which was conducted by ACCA in December 2017. The 100% pass rate gained is well above the global pass rate for this qualification.

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) are set of rules and regulations that guide the preparation of financial reports. These standards are currently being enforced in around 100 countries including Oman where companies are required to fully comply with IFRS. Knowledge of these standards is crucial for anyone working in the accounting and finance field. ACCA IFRS Diploma qualification is designed to equip candidates with advanced knowledge and specialisation in the area of financial reporting.

Nadiya Al Alawai, HR Director - CMA said, “I am pleased that all of the CMA candidates who attended the course passed IFRS diploma. The CMA deals with regulated entities that are obliged to apply IFRS in the preparation of their Financial Statements hence it is imperative that CMA employees are well versed with IFRS.”
