GCC and ISC women’s teams post wins at Republic Day of India Al Yam Cricket Cup

MUSCAT: GCC and ISC women’s teams recorded victories in the Gulf Cricket Centre-organised Republic Day of India Al Yam Cricket Cup at Al Ghurah Powerplant Ground during the last weekend.

In the Women’s Cup competitio­n of the tournament, Gulf Cricket Centre (GCC) team elected to bat first against Rising Stars to score 52 for the loss of just one wicket in eight overs with Heera topscoring with 33. For Rising Stars, Mamta took one wicket.

In reply, Rising Stars fell short of their target scoring 42 runs in eight overs as the efforts of Mamta (17 not out) and Amanda (16 not out) went in vain. Madhulika Gupta, Lady Convenor of ISC Bhojpuri Wing, presented the player of the match award to Heera of GCC.

In another Women’s Cup match, Indian Social Club (ISC) elected to bat first against Al Yam and scored 49 runs for the loss of one wicket in eight overs. Trupti topscored with 19 runs. Fiza of Al Yam claimed one wicket. In reply, Al Yam managed to scored 40 runs in egith overs. Heena topscored with 17.

Rashmi Tripathi, wife of Global Phone Technology MD Pradep TRipathi, presented player of the tournament award to Trupti of ISC.
