Meethaq launches Neswa savings account for women

MUSCAT: Oman’s Islamic banking pioneer from Bank Muscat, Meethaq, has launched an exclusive savings account for women who prefer to use special banking services that increase their privacy and encourage a savings culture.

The Neswa savings account is tailored for the rising number of employed Omani women, as well as those who don’t work, but have personal savings.

The Sharia-compliant Neswa savings account offers special features, discounts and a savings platform for women, with exclusive benefits such as attractive profit rates on savings, compliment­ary Takaful covers under the Women’s Wellness Programme, and a special Visa debit card with a daily ATM withdrawal limit of OMR800. roles played by women in society, Meethaq is proud to present them with the exclusive Neswa savings account. If a customer’s handbag is lost or stolen anywhere in the world, the Takaful company will provide an amount of up to OMR1,000 to cover the reported misuse of credit or debit cards issued in Oman that were in the handbag.

However, only losses incurred within 48 hours of the handbag being reported lost or stolen will be covered. In the event of the loss of ID cards and keys in the handbag, the Takaful company will reimburse up to OMR100 of the cost involved in having duplicate keys made and replacing identifica­tion cards/papers, such as driving licences, resident cards, Takaful cards, and others.
