MSM index ends lower

The top gainer was Galfar Engineerin­g, up 3.33 per cent while the top loser was Oman National Engineerin­g, down 9.88 per cent.

MUSCAT: Ex-dividend prices on index large cap pushed the MSM30 Index to end lower at 4781.92 points, down 1.05 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index declined 1.52 per cent to end at 677.67 points.

Galfar Engineerin­g was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover.

The top gainer was Galfar Engineerin­g, up 3.33 per cent while the top loser was Oman National Engineerin­g, down 9.88 per cent.

A total number of 795 trades were executed on Tuesday, generating a turnover of OMR3.67 million with 25.23 million shares changing hands.

Omani investors

Out of 37 traded securities, 5 advanced, 16 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors switched to net buyers for OMR196,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR147,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR49,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index retreated 0.44 per cent to finish at 7,210.13 points. Taageer and Al Anwar Holding increased by 2.44 per cent and 0.66 per cent respective­ly. Oman & Emirates, Bank Muscat, Bank Nizwa and Gulf Investment Services declined by 2.86 per cent, 1.64 per cent,1.16 per cent and 1.12 per cent respective­ly.

Industrial Index falls

Industrial Index closed at 6,650.84 points, down 0.82 per cent. Galfar Engineerin­g, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and National Aluminium gained by 3.33 per cent, 1.67 per cent and 1.00 per cent respective­ly. Oman Cement, Oman Fisheries and Oman Flour Mills fell by 9.50 per cent, 3.13 per cent and 2.78 per cent respective­ly.

Services Index ended the day at 2,516.41 points, lower by 0.745 per cent. shares of Oman National Engineerin­g, Oreedoo Oman, Pheonix Power and Omantel fell by 9.88 per cent, 3.85 per cent,2.17 per cent and 1.32 per cent respective­ly.
