MUSCAT: At Saud Bahwan Group, Omanisation is an ongoing process. The group continuously recruits and provides Omani employees with the training and the skills needed to pursue rewarding careers, in various functional areas in senior, mid and junior levels.

Recently, the group welcomed a new batch of 40 Omani recruits and assigned them to a training programme to develop their skill, knowledge and performance capabilities on warehousing operations. Elaborating the fundamentals of the programme, the group spokesperson said, “The Junior Storekeeper Course has been formulated by the National College of Automotive Technology (NCAT) in conjunction with Pearson, a UK based organisation to which NCAT is affiliated for training courses. The comprehensive course trains candidates on the specific requirements of a spare parts storekeeper.”

The course is designed with a mix of academic and practical components. While the academic component (classroom training) is delivered on NCAT premises, the practical ‘On-thejob’ training is to be imparted at Saud Bahwan Group’s highly automated Parts Distribution Centre, located at Al Amerat.
