Sohar Islamic sponsors cultural gathering in Izki
MUSCAT: Sohar Islamic - Bank Sohar’s Islamic Banking window, recently sponsored Izki Cultural Gathering that saw a wide range of activities across Izki, highlighting its rich culture and heritage.
An opening ceremony was held at Sultan Qaboos University under the auspices of Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Rawas, the adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Cultural Affairs with a closing ceremony held in Izki under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service.
Over the course of a week, the gathering hosted a wide range of cultural activities including lectures, exhibitions, competitions in poetry, painting, Quran recitation, and symposiums for students. It also highlighted the cultural efforts of local people toward social cohesion, gathering all segments of society to share and celebrate their rich heritage and promote intellectual engagement with one another. Representing Bank Sohar at the closing event, Fahad Akbar Al Zadjali, Head of Retail and Branches at Sohar Islamic received a token of appreciation form the organising committee, thanking the Bank for extending its sponsorship and support.
