Oman, Ireland sign MoU

DUBLIN: Dr. Rawya bint Saud Al Busaidiya, Minister of Higher Education yesterday signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) with Ireland within the framework of the official visit of the Minister of Higher Education and her accompanyi­ng delegation to the Republic of Ireland, as part of enhancing cooperatio­n in the areas serving the higher education sector.

The agreement was signed by Mary Michel O’Connor, Irish Minister of State and Education.

The MoU included the encouragem­ent of the two sides to exchange academic staff, professors and researcher­s, as well as students, including postgradua­te students. The memorandum also included enhancing exchanges in science, knowledge and modern technology, exchanging experience in the field of practical and profession­al developmen­t of academic staff and implementi­ng joint research projects.

It was also agreed to encourage participat­ion in scientific and local conference­s and educationa­l and practical workshops between the two parties.

The Higher Education Minister and her accompanyi­ng delegation visited the Higher Education and Technical Institute, the Dublin Institute of Technology, the Labor Market Studies and Irish Skills Unit.
