Thai Trade Exhibition concludes with resounding success
MUSCAT: The five-day long Thai Trade Exhibition concluded at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre with a resounding success. Over 10,000 + visitors and more than 100 premier Thai companies participated in the trade show and it had tremendous export orders from Omani traders.
Omani importers and consumers had a rare opportunity to visit scores of stalls, which were showcasing a range of authentic Thai products such as beauty, spa and wellness products; fashion and accessories, lifestyle and home products, Thai food and beverages and services ranging from construction and franchises to medical services and hospitals.
Thousands of Omani traders, importers and consumers thronged the exhibition hall to place orders for a large number of items from Thai traders and wholesalers as these were available at great bargains.
The success of the trade fair is expected to not only boost bilateral trade between Thailand and Oman but also strengthen the economic relations between the two friendly countries. There was a substantial growth in a number of traders and consumers who attended the exhibition this year, said the satisfied exhibitors.
A matchmaking business-tobusiness (B2B) meeting organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) also attracted scores of Omani traders and businessmen. Omani businessmen from a variety of sectors attended the meeting and started early trade enquiries, which is expected to translate into major export orders for Thai products. Apart from OCCI, the Public Authority for SMEs Development (Riyada) also extended their support to the business meeting, especially by inviting small and medium enterprises.
Organised by Vega Intertrade & Exhibition, the Thai Trade Exhibition Oman 2018 was supported by Oman International Exhibition Centre (OIEC), Tourism Authority of Thailand, Royal Thai Embassy, Thai Airways, Vejthani Hospital, and Thai Muslim Trade Association.
The Thai exhibition this year was the third such annual trade show, after the tremendous success of last two trade fairs held in Oman in 2016 and 2017.
