Oman to mark WTISD day

MUSCAT: Oman joins the rest of the world in marking the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) which falls on May 17 every year; the founding of ITU and the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention in 1968. By the end of 2017, the number of fixed lines stood at 320,799 compared to 297,094 in 2016. The number of public phones stood at 6,801 and digital network for the integrated services stood at 45,491 compared to 43,672 at the end of 2016.
