Oman to mark WTISD day

MUS­CAT: Oman joins the rest of the world in mark­ing the World Telecom­mu­ni­ca­tion and In­for­ma­tion So­ci­ety Day (WTISD) which falls on May 17 ev­ery year; the found­ing of ITU and the sign­ing of the first In­ter­na­tional Tele­graph Con­ven­tion in 1968. By the end of 2017, the num­ber of fixed lines stood at 320,799 com­pared to 297,094 in 2016. The num­ber of pub­lic phones stood at 6,801 and dig­i­tal net­work for the in­te­grated ser­vices stood at 45,491 com­pared to 43,672 at the end of 2016.
