Gulf College launches CIMA courses
MUSCAT: Gulf College expands its portfolio of educational services by providing CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accounting) qualification though Gulf College Training Unit.
In its endeavour to contribute to the enhancement of higher education and professional development among nationals and residents of the country, Gulf College has partnered with CIMA to offer the prestigious course in Oman.
The launch was held in the presence of Nassima Kaddache, the associate manager for Business Development, from Chartered Institute of Management Accounting, Dubai office, the deputy deans of the college, centre managers and senior staff members. The event was well attended by students, graduates and working professional from all walks.
CIMA courses are designed for anyone yearning to carve a place in business and finance and wish to work for world-class employers. Studying for CIMA certification molds individuals and instills in them the ability to translate complex information and communicate it effectively, guide critical business decisions and create sustainable business success.
Using management accounting tools and techniques, they manage opportunities and risk and bring insight that drives string business performance. CIMA designation holders, add value to any business by blending financial expertise with business insights.
Gulf College Training unit offers 3 levels of CIMA – Certificate level, Operational Level and Management Level. At operational level, the modules will train candidates in skills and knowledge a financial officer may need such as preparing financial statements or resolving budgetary issues. At management level, the emphasis is on issues that are generally addressed at managerial level such as performance evaluation, stakeholder management.
At CIMA, we recognise that people come for it, at different stages in their life. It doesn’t matter whether you are new to business and accounting or an experienced professional. For this reason the CIMA framework is created in such a way that it allows one to take advantage of existing qualifications and experience, and at the same time acquire new skills, knowledge and experience one will need to become a qualified chartered global management accountant.

With the launch of the programme, Gulf College Training Unit welcomes students and graduates from Gulf College and all other colleges and universities to apply and to learn about their exemptions, and the route they will take to achieve their CIMA qualification. Individuals with significant work experience are also welcome to apply and take the corporate route to CIMA qualification. Completion of the CIMA qualification will be a validation of one’s skills in management accounting. CIMA qualified candidates make themselves more employable and better equipped to handle responsible senior positions in any organisation across industries.
