AIWA Awards to felicitate the best corporate performers
MUSCAT: Today, Oman will witness the most high profile event of its kind targeted primarily at the top echelons of the business community in the Sultanate.
To recognise the top achievers in Oman’s corporate world, Alam al-IktisaadWalA’mal (AIWA) had instituted the annual Awards for Oman’s Best Performing Companies in 2011. AIWA, published by United Media Services, is Oman’s leading Arabic business magazine. This year marks the eighth edition of the AIWA Awards.
In a red carpet awards evening at Hotel Sheraton, Muscat today, AIWA will felicitate the top performing listed companies in Oman during the last financial year.
Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, Chairman, Oman Tender Board, is the Chief Guest for the event. 65 companies from banking, finance, insurance, manufacturing, telecom, power & water, oil & gas, logistics, contracting, education & training, fisheries and food & beverages sectors have been shortlisted for the awards. Overall 15 Top Ranking Companies will receive the coveted trophy across three categories – Large Cap, Mid Cap and Small Cap. Furthermore, special Awards will be presented for achievements that go beyond the balance sheet.
Dr Anil Khurana, Partner, US & Middle East for Strategy & Innovation in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will be the International Guest Speaker in the event. He will speak on ‘Innovation Agenda for the Next Two Decades’ in the premium event that will attract more than 150 top business leaders, CEOs and senior government officials from a cross-section of industries, ministries and government bodies.
