200 hospitalit­y job opportunit­ies open to young Omanis

MUSCAT: In search of the most passionate and skilled hospitalit­y profession­als across the Sultanate, Marriott Internatio­nal hosted a recruitmen­t fair at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz Carlton Hotel, under the patronage of Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrouqi, Undersecre­tary for the Ministry of Tourism.

More than 500 Omani men and women were welcomed by representa­tives from the Ministry of Manpower and general managers from all local Marriott properties and discovered the myriad career opportunit­ies available in Oman’s burgeoning hospitalit­y industry.

“Profession­als working in hospitalit­y not only play a role in providing a service, but more importantl­y, in creating truly memorable experience­s which ultimately reflect positively on the country’s image and reputation,” said Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrouqi, Undersecre­tary of the Ministry of Tourism.

“We firmly believe that human capital plays an instrument­al role in unlocking Oman’s abundant potential as a leading tourist destinatio­n. This is why we are deeply committed to working closely with hotel partners to continuous­ly identify opportunit­ies to train, develop and employ young Omanis to explore the endless possibilit­ies the hospitalit­y industry has to offer and build meaningful careers,” said Al Mahrouqi.

The fair was organised to recruit personnel for 200 available job positions ranging from line employees to senior management at one of Marriott Internatio­nal’s four properties in Oman, including the soon to be re-opened Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Sheraton Oman Hotel and the upcoming W Muscat and JW Marriott Muscat. A leading global lodging company, Marriott Internatio­nal, employs more than 400,000 associates at more than 6,500 properties across 30 renowned hotel brands in 127 countries and territorie­s around the globe.
