MUSCAT: A large turnout is expected for Oman’s Home and Building Show 2018.

According to a statement by Omar Al Siyabi, General Manager of New Home for World Projects, “The second and third days are usually when the visitor count really increases, while the first day is when officials and media cover the event. We have been here since the first show, more than 5 years ago, and it has always been this way.”

A statement by event organisers noted, “The three-day event was formally inaugurated by Engineer Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, Chairman of Muscat Municipality.” The show is mainly directed at branding and connecting customers to the companies.

Al Siyabi added, “This is a business dominated by customers, such as people who are building homes. There are businesses that also come. But it’s mostly about customers.” Each yearly exhibition has been bigger than the last.

A Business Development Executive at Al Hajiry Furnishing said, “The first show was simple, and then the second built on that. Last year’s event was maybe the largest, as companies are currently feeling pressure and cutting down on marketing.”

The executive noted, “There are multiple companies that, at the last few events, had large stands and galleries. Some of them are not here today, as they cut down on costs. To be here is almost proof that we are able to spend the money to connect to customers on a personal level, and ensure communication remains open.”

The statement by event organizers added, “In all, around 800 different brands, drawn from over 30 countries, are on display amid the high-tech settings of the convention centre.

“Together, they represent the most comprehensive collection of products, technologies and services related to the home and building environment, ever to be showcased in the Sultanate.”
